Overwatch 2 is a team-based online hero shooter game, and it will launch on October 4, 2022. In this game, players split into two different teams and from the roaster of more than 30 characters, a hero is selected. The characters are organized into three different categories first one is the Damage class, the second one is Support class, and the third one is Tank class.

Damage class: The damage class is responsible for the offense.

Support class: The support class is responsible for buffing and healing.

Tank class: The tank class is responsible for the team’s protection.

We cannot say that overwatch 2 is exactly a sequel. It is considered one as the name suggests but it is more of a relaunch of Overwatch because Overwatch is shutting down permanently after the release of Overwatch 2. Overwatch 2 is planned to have a shared environment for player-versus-player modes with the previous game while introducing more interesting and helpful modes.

What Is New In Overwatch 2?

The biggest change Overwatch 2 provides is that it is free-to-play and when Aaron was asked about it his answer was pretty simple. He said rather than releasing another box that players would have to buy to opt into the experience we would rather open the game to as broad of a population as possible so overwatch is a game of teamwork and cooperation and strategy and we feel like it is played best in a social setting or with your friends so removing the price is a barrier to entry is hopefully a way for you to be able to play with more of your friends and have a better experience.

The New Heroes Of Overwatch 2

After a few years’ break from adding heroes in Overwatch Blizzard Entertainment is planning to launch three new heroes in Overwatch 2.  The new three heroes are Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko.

Sojourn

Sojourn is a high-mobility gunner and the first new hero who is of a Damage class who uses an assault rifle that builds charge and releases energy. Sojourn might be a difficult hero to play for some players because the accurate aim is needed to play her as the more accurate the aim is more effective the players are going to be with her railgun. Sojourn makes a good leader and is known for her discipline.

Junker Queen

Junker Queen is the second new hero who is of a Tank class. Junker Queen is a close combat brawler with a Scattergun of high damage. Junker Queen can yank enemies toward her with the throwing knife she has and drain off the opponent’s health who is cut by her axe. As her name suggests she is the queen of Junkertown and every single one of the Junkers is scared of her.

Kiriko

Kiriko is the third of the new featured heroes in Overwatch 2 who is of Support class. Kiriko is a cheeky type of hero meaning she is full of life. She has a facetious style of humor and is not afraid of teasing others regardless of the situation or what type of person she is teasing. She can channel a burst of healing talismans to her teammates and can teleport directly to them, even through walls.

Sojourn and Junker Queen were released first on the beta version, but Kiriko wasn’t released early so she was called the mystery hero of the support class.

Previous Heroes Changes

There were a few changes made to the heroes such as Orisa, Doomfist, and Bastion.

Orisa: Let’s just say that Orisa is also a new hero in Overwatch 2 because she now rapidly fires large projectiles, she uses a mechanic instead of ammo/reload. Her protective barrier is replaced with an ability to block incoming projectiles by twirling her new javelin. She now gains 125 temporary health, slowed by 20% while active, and the heat generated from firing is reduced by 50% while active. Her Halt and supercharge were also removed.

Doomfist: Doomfist was changed from a damage hero to a tank hero with an increase of 450 in health. Doomfist’s ammo recovery is increased to once every 0.4s and the damage is reduced from 6 to 5 pallets. His power block allows the player to protect themselves from frontal attacks and the empowered rocket punch travels faster, and further, and deals more damage. Doomfist’s rocket punch max charge was reduced to 1s, impact damage was reduced to 15-30, and wall clam damage was reduced to 20-40. His uppercut is replaced with a vertical leap.

Bastion: Bastion was an immobile tank but now it has a set of wheels meaning he can now transform into a turret and can move when transformed into turret form. The turret form lasts only a few seconds so he can’t move that much. Bastion’s self-heal has been replaced with a new secondary grenade and he has got a new ultimate.
